What's different about this product, is that it is a bait that fire ants will feed on. Baits are simply the best way to control fire ant problems. Foraging worker ants are highly attracted to Amdro. They think it's food and carry it into the mound, feeding it to other ants and the queen. Amdro's patented insecticide formulation immediately goes to work to kill the ants. But since the results are gradual, the ants do not panic, swarm or attempt to relocate the mound. Within 3 to 14 days the colony will be killed. Usage Information: Usage is quite easy, too. Simply broadcast Amdro bait granules wherever there is fire ant activity. Treating only the mound is often not enough, since many mounds are hidden in the lawn or garden areas. These hidden mounds are connected to the colony through a series of underground tunnels. (See picture at bottom.) By broadcasting Amdro over your entire yard area, fire ants are sure to find the bait. Benefits: - Mound treatment with liquid insecticides lasts only about 5 weeks. Amdro treatment lasts for five months! - 94% of Agricultural experts and university researchers surveyed, recommend the use of a bait product for the treatment of fire ants. And 75% recommend Amdro over other leading brands.* - Only 2 to 5 tablespoons are needed to treat one mound. - 2 to 4 ounces of Amdro will treat about 5,000 square feet (or, 1 - 2 lbs. per acre). - Use outdoors on lawns, landscape areas, golf courses, commercial grounds, park areas, and other non-crop planted areas or areas where livestock resides. - Active ingredient: Hydramethylnon. - Kills both imported and native fire ants and other ants, too. - Available in two sizes: 1 lb. and 6 oz. - Approved for use in the 48 states of the continental US .
