This attractant is easily applied to an applicator on the top of each of the 3 posts. When the deer are drawn to the scent applied to the post, the post delivers a battery-powered shock! This shock will not harm the deer in any way but it sure scares them! Once this happens a few times, the deer will then associate YOUR yard area with a very uncomfortable situation. They will then avoid your yard for safer greenery! Specifications: - The 3 post system will deter deer from an area of about 1,200 square feet. -Installs and assembles very easily. - The electronic posts are impervious to cold, heat and rain. They'll even work down to zero degrees, F. This assures you of year-round deer control! - Each post is powered by 2 - AA batteries. This will supply power for about one year. - Safe and harmless to pets and people. - When used up, the acorn scent is readily available at most sporting good stores that sell hunting supplies. Tell us what you think about this product: It dosn't work on California deer, we spent about $300.00 on these shock posts and placed throughout the yard. The deer didn't even smell them, we watched them chow down about $50.00 worth of shrubs and flowers. We followed the instructions to the T as we tried several attempts with new batteries and sent pellets, Still didn't work!, I believe these shock post are over rated and might work on really dumb deer, the only shock I got was the amount of money my wife spent on these things.
